1. IMPLEMENTATION OF SWM AS PER STATE POLICY
-
LANDFILL SITE
–
Previously allotted landfill site at Dodda Mannu Gudde measuring about 16.30
acres ( S No. 308/1 to 308/7) has been withdrawn by Government for other
purpose. Alternative land yet to be handed over to CMC.
-
IEC activities
– IEC activities were carried out by an NGO
named SHANTHA JEEVA JYOTHI from 01.02.2005 to 31.01.2007. Right now IEC
activities are done by CMC staff using SHG groups.
-
ACTION PLAN
– Action plan for Rs 30.35 lakhs has been
submitted to DMA. Funds for Rs 29.98 lakhs has been released for the
procurement of Tools, Equipment & Vehicles.

DOOR TO DOOR COLLECTION
– Out of 31 wards, SWM activities ( Door to
Door collection, street sweeping & transportation ) in 19 wards has been given
on service contract & remaining 12 wards are being maintained by CMC staff.
Door to Door collection in CMC command area is being carried out by SHGs.

SECONDARY COLLECTION & TRANSPORTATION
– Metal containers of dimension 3 & 4.2 Cum are being used for secondary
storage which are handled mechanically through Twin container Dumper placer.

II) MANUAL SCAVENGING
Five manual Scavengers were identified
by Private agency M/s Data Mation Research appointed by DMA. Presently these
scavengers are not working in cleaning Dry latrines. A proposal has been sent to
Dr. Ambedkar Abhivruddhi Nigam to rehabilitate these persons. Details of
families which were maintaining Dry latrines have been sent to Assistant
Commissioner, Ramanagara to take legal action & dry latrines have been
demolished . Modern flush latrines have been constructed in place of dry
latrines.
III) STATUS OF POURAKARMIKAS/SAFAIKARMACHARI
Against 100 sanctioned posts, presently there
are 53 pourakarmikas working in the CMC. Pourakarmika families are provided with
sewing machines & notebook for pourakarmika children. Applications for computer
training for pourakarmika children have been submitted to Dr.Ambedkar
Abhivruddhi Nigam. CMC is starting its own computer training centre under 18%
scheme. Preference will be given to Pourakarmika families. Budget provision has
been made to distribute School bags to Pourakarmika children in the present
year.
